Credit Education
Understanding your credit is the first step to improving your credit score. Getting the facts straight about credit repair can be a daunting task. Misinformation abounds which encourages consumers to feel as if they're stuck with poor credit even though affirmative legal steps can provide relief. Understanding your consumer rights is the first step toward improving your credit rating. By law, the creditor must prove the accuracy of what you are disputing within 30 days. If they don't, it simply is removed from your credit report. If you have evidence that something is wrong, simply submit the evidence and they will have to remove the inaccurate data within 30 days or prove that it's accurate.

How Important is your Score?
If your credit score is above 680 you are considered a "prime borrower" and will have no problem getting a good interest rate on your home loan, car loan or credit card.

If your credit score is below 680 you are considered "sub prime" and will likely pay a much higher interest rate on your loan.

A credit score below 560 is a poor score. At least that is how most lenders and credit issuers perceive it. You can still get a credit card but you will likely be hit with a security deposit or high acquisition fee. In addition to that your interest rate will likely be 22 to 23%. You can forget about most home loans and the majority of new car loans at this score. Below 560 is no place to be. You will pay much, much more in higher interest and unnecessary fees. You may even pay more for your insurance rates. A very low score can even prevent you from getting a job with many companies.

  • What You can Do

Pay your bills on time. Sounds simple but this is the biggest thing you can do to keep your score high. Delinquent payments and collections have a major negative impact on a score.

  • Keep your balances low on unsecured revolving debt like credit cards. High outstanding balances can affect a score.
  • The amount of your unused credit is an important factor in calculating your score. You should only apply for credit that you need.
  • Make sure the information in your credit report is correct. If its not dispute it with the credit agencies and/or with the creditor directly.
  • Removing negative items on your credit reports has the biggest impact on your FICO score. Generally negative items stay on your reports for seven years but you can hire a professional credit report repair service to do it for you.

The steps below show exactly how our process will unfold.

    Step 1: Verify Identity

Once the sign up process is complete, you are advised to forward us proof of your social security number and proof of your current mailing address. We ask for this up front because we verify your identity with the credit bureaus. By verifying your identity, we are able to increase the speed and efficiency of all processes involved (mycreditup.com, Credit Bureaus, Creditors).

Step 2: Review your credit reports.

After you have submitted the information requested, we will review your credit reports with you and inform you of your 3 credit scores. We will also inform you of your profile summary, which will outline how many negative items are on your credit reports and exactly what they are. If you already have your credit reports, then you can forward the reports to us during Step 1.

Step 3: We begin to work on the negative items.

At this time we will begin the investigation process by utilizing our time proven credit report repair strategies. Our experience with The Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act will now go into effect as we challenge the questionable negative items on your credit reports. This step will repeat through each cycle of our process. Our process consists of 6 cycles, and we will verify your identity with each cycle performed.

    Step 4: Send results.

By law the credit bureaus have 30 days to perform our investigations, and they typically utilize the time given. Once they have completed our investigations, they must inform YOU of the results. They do so by mailing you a copy of your updated credit reports. Each report you receive will have a "results" page located near the top of the credit report - typically one of the top 3 pages. The results page will outline the negative items that we investigated and DELETED. Reviewing the results pages will allow you to monitor the progression of our process and essentially what you are paying for.

You are required to fax or mail us the Results from each round. After we review and process the results, we then repeat Step 3, only this time there will most likely be less negative items on your credit report.

*** We highly recommend you create a personal credit file folder, where you can store all of the information received in the mail over the next few months. By creating a credit file folder you are able to keep all documents in one place and monitor the progression of our process.
